Titans Win All Four Events During Victory Over Warriors

Emily Gilot took first place on the vault and shared the top finish on the uneven bars with teammate Baylee Tkaczuk as visiting UW-Oshkosh recorded a 188.55-184.275 women's gymnastics victory over Winona State University (Minn.) on Thursday (Jan. 30).

UW-Oshkosh achieved its second-highest score of the season with event figures of 47.60 in the floor exercise, 47.30 on the balance beam, 47.00 on the vault and 46.65 on the uneven bars. The Titans' score on the balance beam was a season best.

Winona State University posted its highest score of the season by calculating event counts of 46.60 in the floor exercise, 46.225 on the vault, 46.05 on the uneven bars and 45.40 on the balance beam.

Gilot won the vault competition with a score of 9.70 and earned a grade of 9.50 on the uneven bars to tie for first place with Tkaczuk. Gilot also finished fourth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.525 and Tkaczuk second on the balance beam with a tally of 9.55.

Freshman Trinity Sawyer had a strong meet for the Titans by finishing first in the floor exercise with a score of 9.625, second on the vault with a mark of 9.525 and third on the uneven bars with a result of 9.30.

Olivia Keller earned UW-Oshkosh's fourth event victory by placing first on the balance beam with a score of 9.65. She also finished second in the floor exercise with a figure of 9.60.

UW-Oshkosh had two other top-six finishers in the floor exercise as Jessica Bernardo finished fifth and Rahdea Jarvis sixth with scores of 9.45 and 9.40, respectively. Bernardo also contributed a sixth-place result of 9.20 on the uneven bars.

The Titans additionally received a third-place score of 9.425 on the vault from Haley Volstad, a fourth-place mark of 9.45 on the balance beam from Kaira Hammond and a fifth-place grade of 9.375 on the balance beam from Paige Mayhew.

Neither team had a participant in the all-around competition.

UW-Oshkosh will compete along with Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) and host UW-Whitewater at the Harley-Davidson Invitational on Feb. 7 in Milwaukee (Wisconsin Center).
