Titans Perform Well During Loss To Warhawks

UW-Oshkosh had two event winners and compiled its second-highest team score of the season during its 187.875-185-375 loss to the UW-Whitewater women's gymnastics team on Friday (Feb. 16) in Kolf Sports Center.

UW-Oshkosh's Baylee Tkaczuk captured a winning score of 9.675 on the uneven bars while finishing second in the all-around competition with 37.125 points and fifth on the balance beam with 9.40.

Marisa Scholtens of the Titans was the winner on the balance beam with a score of 9.525.

UW-Oshkosh surpassed a team score of 183.400 for the fourth straight meet after totaling 47.20 points on the balance beam, 46.575 on the uneven bars, 45.875 in the floor exercise and 45.725 on the vault during Friday's activity.

UW-Whitewater, which remained unbeaten against its WIAC opponents this season, recorded its team score with 47.85 points on the uneven bars, 47.70 in the floor exercise, 46.375 on the vault and 45.95 on the balance beam.

Warhawk Lisa O'Donnell won the all-around competition with a score of 38.25 while taking first place in both the floor exercise and vault categories with figures of 9.75 and 9.475, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh owned five of the top six scores on the balance beam. In addition to the first-place finish by Scholtens and the fifth-place listing by Tkaczuk, the Titans had Kasandra Stamopoulos rank second with 9.475 points, Amanda McBrayer third with 9.425 and Dana LoCascio sixth with 9.375.

The Titans had two other top-six performers on the uneven bars as Bailee Hardy finished fifth with a season-best 9.575 points and Kasandra Stamopoulos sixth with 9.55.

UW-Oshkosh also received a third-place score of 36.85 in the all-around competition and a fourth-place mark of 9.25 on the vault from McBrayer.

Titans Bailey Finin and Amira Ali placed fourth in the floor exercise with 9.525 points and fifth on the vault with 9.225, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh closes its regular season at UW-Eau Claire next Friday (Feb. 23).
