Titans Record Five Season Bests In Nation's Capital

The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team recorded season bests in every event and in its final overall score at the George Washington University Pink Meet on Sunday (Feb. 4) in Washington, D.C.

UW-Oshkosh totaled 190.975 points to rank fourth among its three NCAA Division I opponents George Washington University, Kent State University (Ohio) and William & Mary College (Va.).

George Washington University, ranked 25th by the College Gymnastics Association, won the meet with 196.525 points while Kent State University finished second with 195.325 and William & Mary College third with 193.225.

UW-Oshkosh reached its overall result by scoring 48.15 points on the balance beam, 47.90 in the floor exercise, 47.80 on the uneven bars and 47.125 on the vault.

The Titans received season bests from all of its top 16 finishers, including Baylee Tkaczuk, who placed fifth on the uneven bars with 9.825 points and seventh on the balance beam with 9.725.

UW-Oshkosh's Paige Mayhew and Kasandra Stamopoulos also cracked the top 16 listings in two events. Mayhew placed sixth on the balance beam with 9.75 points and 14th in the floor exercise with 9.725 while Stamopoulos finished 11th on the balance beam and 15th on the uneven bars with scores of 9.675.

The Titans also had Bailey Finin finish seventh in the floor exercise with 9.80 points and Amanda McBrayer 12th on the vault with 9.65.

In the all-around competition Tkaczuk placed seventh among the meet's nine competitors with 38.10 points while McBrayer finished eighth with 37.975 and Mayhew ninth with 36.90.

Kent State University's Rachel Stypinski earned three of the five individual victories with her scores of 39.55 in the all-around competition, 9.95 on the uneven bars and 9.925 on the balance beam.

Camille Drouin-Allaire of George Washington University was involved in the remaining two first-place finishes after registering scores of 9.925 in the floor exercise and 9.900 on the vault. Drouin-Allaire shared her victory on the vault with George Washington University teammate Jillian Winstanley.

UW-Oshkosh travels to St. Peter, Minn., on Saturday (Feb. 10) to compete against Gustavus Adolphus College.
