Visiting Blue Devils Victorious Over Titans

UW-Oshkosh's Amira Ali and Amanda McBrayer won events during the Titans' 180.350-178.200 loss to the UW-Stout women's gymnastics team on Friday (Jan. 12) in Kolf Sports Center.

Ali captured first place on the vault with a score of 9.35 while finishing fourth on the balance beam with a result of 8.95. Ali's performance on the vault marked her first victory as a Titan.

McBrayer earned the top score of 9.40 points on the balance beam. She also finished second in the all-around competition with 36.35 points, fourth on the uneven bars with 8.85 and fifth in the floor exercise with 9.175. McBrayer shared her fourth-place listing on the uneven bars with UW-Oshkosh teammate Kasandra Stamopoulos

Paige Mayhew also had a strong meet for the Titans. She placed third among the five participants in the all-around competition with 36.175 points while finishing second in the floor exercise with 9.30 points, third on the balance beam with 9.075 and fourth on the vault with 9.125.

UW-Oshkosh's top-six finishes were rounded out by Bailee Hardy's second-place score of 9.375 on the uneven bars, Bailey Finin's fourth-place mark of 9.20 in the floor exercise and Stamopoulos' sixth-place figure of 8.80 on the balance beam. 

UW-Stout's Sierra Beaver was a multiple winner after totaling 37.425 points in the all-around competition and 9.425 on the uneven bars. The Blue Devils' Mikayla Bugge won the floor exercise with a score of 9.525.

UW-Stout claimed the team title with winning event scores of 45.925 in the floor exercise, 44.45 on the uneven bars and 45.85 on the vault. The Blue Devils, who finished fifth at last year's NCGA Championship, tallied 44.125 points on the balance beam.

The Titans earned their highest score in the floor exercise with 45.575 points. UW-Oshkosh compiled 44.70 points to defeat UW-Stout on the balance beam while accumulating 44.325 points on the vault and 43.60 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh visits Winona State University (Minn.) next Friday (Jan. 19) for its first road meet of the season.
