Titans Edged By Warriors

UW-Oshkosh's Baylee Tkaczuk captured three first-place finishes during the Titans' narrow 182.650-182.175 loss to the Winona State University (Minn.) women's gymnastics team on Friday (Jan. 20) in Kolf Sports Center.

Tkaczuk won the all-around competition with 37.35 points while finishing first on both the balance beam and uneven bars with scores of 9.625 and 9.575, respectively. She also placed fifth on the vault with 9.025 points and eighth in the floor exercise with 9.125.

Danielle Turner secured UW-Oshkosh's fourth individual victory with her score of 9.30 on the vault. Turner also tallied 9.40 points in the floor exercise to share second place with teammate Bailey Finin.

UW-Oshkosh dominated the Warriors on the vault. In addition to the finishes by Turner and Tkaczuk, the Titans also received third-place scores of 9.15 from both Karen King and Dana LoCascio and a sixth-place mark of 8.975 from Jessica Bernardo.

The Titans had three other top-six finishers on the uneven bars as Bernardo placed second with 9.325 points, Kasandra Stamopoulos third with 9.275 and Madison Reiter sixth with 9.175. Stamoploulos also contributed a third-place score of 9.525 on the balance beam.

Bernardo ranked in the top six in two other categories for UW-Oshkosh, the all-around competition with a third-place score of 35.625 and the floor exercise with a fifth-place figure of 9.325.

The Titans also had Amanda McBrayer finish sixth on the balance with a score of 9.35.

Winona State University's Alyssa Carroll took first place in the floor exercise with a score of 9.475.

UW-Oshkosh, which also lost by less than point (175.550-174.725) to Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Jan. 7, achieved its overall team score against Winona State University by totaling 45.950 points on the uneven bars, 45.925 on the balance beam, 45.600 on the vault and 44.700 in the floor exercise.

Winona State University reached its final team result with 46.575 points on the balance beam, 45.825 in the floor exercise, 45.325 on the uneven bars and 44.925 on the vault.

UW-Oshkosh travels to Shreveport, La., for a dual meet against Centenary College next Friday (Jan. 27). The event marks the Titans' first regular-season trip to the state of Louisiana.
