Titans Set School Record For Season-Opening Scoring

UW-Oshkosh set a school record for season-opening scoring during its 181.275-179.325 women's gymnastics victory over Hamline University (Minn.) on Saturday (Jan. 10) in St. Paul, Minn.

The Titans reached their impressive scoring value by totaling 45.825 points on the vault, 45.625 on the uneven bars, 45.50 in the floor exercise and 44.325 on the balance beam.

Hamline University suffered the narrow loss despite counting 46.00 points in the floor exercise, 45.175 on the uneven bars, 45.15 on the vault and 43.00 on the balance beam.

Krystal Walker earned two of UW-Oshkosh's four individual victories. She won the all-around competition with a score of 35.325 and the balance beam with a mark of 9.35. Walker also placed fourth in the floor exercise and vault categories with scores of 9.225 and 9.25, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh's Leane Blais counted 9.35 points to win the uneven bars competition. She also finished fourth on the balance beam with a score of 8.925.

Kimberly Robertson earned 9.375 points on the vault to round out the Titans' list of individual winners. She also placed sixth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.175.

Hamline University received its lone first-place finish from Olivia Kressler in the floor exercise. She won the event with a score of 9.375.

The Titans also had Barbara Bass finish second on the balance beam with 9.15 points, Kasandra Stamopoulos third on the uneven bars with 9.20, Elizabeth Kiel fourth on the uneven bars with 9.15 and Nicole deRoode sixth on the vault with 9.025.

UW-Oshkosh kicks off its home schedule with a meet against UW-Eau Claire on Friday (Jan. 16) in Kolf Sports Center.
