Warriors, Blugolds Outscore Titans

UW-Oshkosh's Krystal Walker and Leane Blais combined for three of the five first-place efforts at a women's gymnastics triangular hosted by UW-Eau Claire on Friday (Feb. 14).

Winona State University (Minn.) captured the team title with 181.825 points, while UW-Eau Claire finished second with 181.775 and UW-Oshkosh third with 179.95. The Warriors won the meet on the strength of 46.525 points in the floor exercise and 46.225 on the vault.

UW-Oshkosh surpassed 45 team points in three categories, including the uneven bars where it posted a score of 45.225. The Titans also tallied 45.125 points in the floor exercise, 45.10 on the vault and 44.50 on the balance beam.

Walker took first place on the balance beam with 9.475 points while winning the all-around competition with a score of 37.025. She also finished sixth in the floor exercise at 9.375 and eighth on the uneven bars at 9.05.

Blais continued to shine on the uneven bars. She won the event with a score of 9.475 while placing fourth on the balance beam with a mark of 9.30.

The Titans also had Elizabeth Kiel finish third on the uneven bars with a score of 9.425 and Kimberly Robertson eighth on the vault with a figure of 9.15.

Other event winners were Jade Donaldson of Winona State University and Elizabeth Stubbs of UW-Eau Claire. Donaldson had a score of 9.425 on the vault, while Stubbs marked a 9.50 in the floor exercise.

UW-Oshkosh's final home meet of the 2014 season takes place when it hosts UW-Whitewater on Feb. 22.
