Titans Victorious Over Gusties

UW-Oshkosh swept the top five finishes on the uneven bars and the top three places on both the vault and in the floor exercise during its 179.675-173.975 triumph over the Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) women's gymnastics team on Saturday (Jan. 25) in St. Peter, Minn.

The Titans compiled their winning score on points of 45.85 on the vault, 45.50 on the uneven bars, 45.05 in the floor exercise and 43.275 on the balance beam.

With help of 44.85 points on the vault and 44.575 in the floor exercise, Gustavus Adolphus College achieved its highest score of the season. The Gusties also tallied 43.15 points on the balance beam and 41.40 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh's Steffani Meusburger won the uneven bars competition with a score of 9.50, while teammates Leane Blais finished second at 9.25, Elizabeth Kiel third at 8.975, Courtney Howard fourth at 8.90 and Emily Ryan fifth at 8.875.

The Titans' Kimberly Robertson posted a winning score of 9.375 on the vault, while teammates Kylie Fischer and Krystal Walker both placed second at 9.30. UW-Oshkosh's Nicole deRoode was sixth on the apparatus with a value of 9.025.

Walker was a double-winner for UW-Oshkosh. She performed to first-place results of 9.325 on both the balance beam and in the floor exercise.

The floor exercise also featured Fischer finishing second and Ryan third with scores of 9.25 and 9.20, respectively. Blais ranked second on the balance beam with a mark of 8.825 and Robertson sixth with a figure of 8.60.

Jamie Ries of Gustavus Adolphus College was the top all-around competitor of the meet, finishing with a score of 35.575.

UW-Oshkosh participates at UW-La Crosse's Gershon/McClellan Invitational on Friday (Jan. 31).
