Trip To Missouri Features Several Season-Bests

The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team finished fourth in a quadrangular hosted by NCAA Division II Lindenwood University on Friday (Jan. 17) in St. Charles, Mo.

UW-Oshkosh totaled 185.875 points for its highest score of the season, while Lindenwood University won the team title with a score of 191.575. NCAA Division II Seattle Pacific University (Wash.) finished second with 190.45 points and UW-La Crosse third with 188.65.

UW-Oshkosh established season-bests with scores of 47.15 on the vault and 46.25 on both the uneven bars and balance beam. The Titans tallied 46.225 points in the floor exercise.

Leane Blais led UW-Oshkosh with a pair of top-six finishes. She placed fifth on the balance beam with a score of 9.60 and sixth on the uneven bars with a mark of 9.70. Blais shared her ranking on the uneven bars with Bryn Larson of Seattle Pacific University.

The Titans' Krystal Walker finished second in the all-around competition with 37.075 points. Emily Turk of Lindenwood University earned first place in the category with a score of 37.80.

Walker also finished 12th on the vault with a value of 9.525. She shared the listing with Ali Tso of Seattle Pacific University and Sheree Romesburg and Kari Willett of UW-La Crosse.

Other top finishes for UW-Oshkosh included Kylie Fischer placing ninth on the vault with a score of 9.575, Elizabeth Kiel tying for 10th on the balance beam with a figure of 9.40 and Emily Ryan ranking 12th on the uneven bars with a mark of 9.35.

Lindenwood University owned all four event winners, including Rachel Zabawa who scored 9.775 points on the vault and 9.75 in the floor exercise. She shared the top mention in the floor exercise with Kai Tindall of Seattle Pacific University.

The Lady Lions also received winning scores of 9.90 from Courtney Heise on the uneven bars and 9.80 from Valeri Ingui on the balance beam.

UW-Oshkosh's next meet is at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Jan. 25.
