Braun Earns Another WIAC Golf Athlete Of The Week Award

UW-Oshkosh's Hannah Braun collected her third WIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week citation of the 2018 season for her performance in events held Sept. 24-30.

Braun, who previously earned the league's weekly award for events held Aug. 27-Sept. 2 and Sept. 3-9, captured her second individual title of the season by winning the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational held Sept. 29-30 at the Stevens Point Country Club in Stevens Point.

Braun, who battled through temperatures in the 40s both days and mist in the air on the final day of competition, counted 157 strokes (11-over-par) to edge UW-Oshkosh's Kayla Priebe and UW-Whitewater's Sabrina Schneck, who both tallied 158 strokes as second-place finishers. Braun, who also won the UW-Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic on Sept. 1-2, posted 18-hole scores of 80 and 77 to defeat 63 other golfers at the Mad Dawg Invitational.

UW-Oshkosh won the eight-team Mad Dawg Invitational with 646 strokes, eight better than the 654 compiled by second-place UW-Stout. UW-River Falls finished third with 695 strokes and UW-Eau Claire fourth with 697.
