Priebe, Richards Named All-American Scholars

UW-Oshkosh golfers Kayla Priebe and Micayla Richards were named an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) for the 2017-18 academic year. 

Priebe, a junior, was selected as an All-American Scholar for the third consecutive year. The Fox Valley Lutheran High School (Appleton) graduate owns a 4.00 cumulative grade point average as an accounting major. She is a three-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll member.

Richards, a senior, is a first-time All-American Scholar. The Janesville Parker High School graduate possesses a 3.53 cumulative grade point average as a business management major. She is a four-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.

A total of 1,011 women from NCAA and NAIA institutions around the nation were named a WGCA All-American Scholar. Players must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for the award.

Priebe played in six of UW-Oshkosh's eight tournaments this past season and recorded an 18-hole average of 80.5 strokes. She received All-WIAC Second Team accolades after finishing third at the WIAC Championship, fifth at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational and sixth at the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational.

Priebe received All-Central Region First Team honors by the Women's Golf Coaches Association during the 2016-17 season. She also was named the WIAC's Player of the Year after averaging 79.3 strokes and counting 80 shots or less during 12 of her 15 18-hole rounds. Priebe captured first place at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic, second place at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational and third place at both the WIAC Championship and UW-Whitewater Invitational.

During the 2015-16 season, Priebe led UW-Oshkosh with her 49th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship. She also finished second at both the WIAC Championship and UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic. Priebe concluded the season by averaging 82.7 strokes.

Richards received All-WIAC First Team honors this past season after averaging 80.9 strokes and placing sixth at the league championship. She also finished third at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational and sixth at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic.

Richards averaged 83.6 strokes and collected All-WIAC Second Team mention during the 2016-17 season. She placed fifth at the WIAC Championship, seventh at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic and 10th at the UW-Whitewater Invitational.

The 2015-16 season featured Richards collecting All-WIAC Second Team honors. She averaged 86.6 strokes as a member of the Titans' WIAC championship and NCAA postseason team. Richards placed eighth at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational, 13th at the WIAC Championship and 81st at the NCAA Division III Championship.

Richards averaged 89.5 strokes during the 2014-15 season. She finished 12th at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational and 19th at the WIAC Championship.

Other WIAC golfers recognized by the WGCA for their performance in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year were Marie Allo, Alexa Filipiak and Rachel Hernandez from UW-Stout and Kaitlin Bowe, Kristin Bowe, Ashley Hofmeister, Hayley Jefferson and Madeline McCue from UW-Whitewater.

2018 WGCA All-American Scholar Team
