Titans Conclude Season With Fourth-Place Result

UW-Oshkosh sliced 15 strokes off its first-day score to finish in a tie for fourth place at the Augustana College Women's Golf Viking Invitational held Saturday and Sunday (April 28-29) at the Highland Springs Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.

UW-Oshkosh totaled 649 strokes (65-over-par) during the 36-hole tournament, including an improvement of 332 to 317 strokes from Saturday to Sunday. The Titans shared fourth place in the 14-team tournament with Illinois Wesleyan University "B".

Illinois Wesleyan University "A" and William Penn University (Iowa) tied for the team title with 623 strokes (39-over-par). UW-Whitewater, which led William Penn University by two strokes, 312-314, after Saturday's competition, finished third with 630 overall strokes.

Augustana College (Ill.) took sixth place with 679 strokes while Monmouth College finished seventh with 684.

Kayla Priebe paced UW-Oshkosh during its season-ending event with an 11th-place score of 158 (12-over-par). She tallied 79 strokes on both days of competition to share the finish with UW-Whitewater's Kelly Storti.

Titans Hannah Braun and Hanna Rebholz both placed 24th with 164 strokes. Braun counted 82 strokes on both days while Rebholz improved her daily performance from 83 to 81.

UW-Oshkosh also had Micayla Richards finish 26th with 165 strokes, Keara Richards 33rd with 170 strokes and Dianna Scheibe 38th with 172. 

Illinois Wesleyan University owned the top four individual results, including Jackie Garcia's first-place score of 150 (4-over-par). Garcia counted 75 strokes during each day of activity.

Illinois Wesleyan University also had Jenna DeMay and Maggie Warrner finish second with 151 strokes and Emma Klimala fourth with 154. DeMay and Warrner were members of the Titans' "B" squad.

William Penn University's Alexis Guimaraes placed fifth among the tournament's 78 golfers with 155 strokes.
