Titans Have Three Repeat Selections On All-WIAC Golf Team

Hannah Braun and Micayla Richards were named to the first squad and Kayla Priebe to the second as UW-Oshkosh secured three selections on the 10-member 2017 All-WIAC Women's Golf Team.

Braun earned her second straight All-WIAC award after being voted to the second team in 2016 while Richards collected her third consecutive all-league citation after being chosen to the second team in both 2015 and 2016. Priebe, the 2016 WIAC Player of the Year, was also an all-league first team honoree in 2015.

Joining Braun and Richards on the first team were Ashley Hofmeister and CheyAnn Knudsen of league champion UW-Whitewater and Rachel Hernandez of UW-Stout

Trystin Kluess and Madison McCambridge of UW-Stout, Allison Chomniak of UW-Eau Claire and Maddie McCue of UW-Whitewater joined Priebe on the second team.

Braun played in all five tournaments for the Titans this fall and averaged 79 strokes per 18 holes to rank second in the league. She won the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic while finishing 10th at both the WIAC Championship and Wartburg College Invitational.

Richards also appeared in all five tournaments for UW-Oshkosh and averaged 79.9 strokes per 18 holes to list fifth in the league. She placed third at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational and sixth at both the WIAC Championship and UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic.

Playing every tournaments for the Titans, Priebe averaged 80.7 strokes per 18 holes. She finished third at the WIAC Championship, fifth at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational and sixth at the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational.

UW-Oshkosh concluded the fall portion of its 2017-18 schedule with a third-place finish at the WIAC Championship held Oct. 6-8 in Reedsburg. UW-Whitewater captured the team title with 942 strokes while UW-Stout finished second with 959 and UW-Oshkosh third with 962.

UW-Whitewater's Hofmeister was named the 2017 WIAC Player of the Year after leading the conference with a 78.3 stroke average and finishing second at the league championship. UW-Stout's Howie Samb was selected as the 2017 WIAC Coach of the Year.

The 2017 All-WIAC Team was determined by using the NCAA Division III Golfstat rankings immediately following the conclusion of the conference championship. A player must have completed at least eight rounds in order to be eligible.
