Titans Take Third At 19-Team UW-Whitewater Invitational

Led by McKenzie Paul's fifth-place individual finish, UW-Oshkosh ranked third out of 19 teams at the UW-Whitewater Women's Golf Invitational held Friday and Saturday (Sept. 25-26) at the Delbrook Golf Club in Delavan.

Carthage College claimed the team title with 638 strokes, 54-over par. The Lady Reds tallied 18-hole scores of 315 on the first day of competition and 323 on the second.

The University of St. Francis (Ill.) finished second to Carthage College with 644 strokes, while UW-Oshkosh placed third with 657, Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) fourth with 666, Wheaton College (Ill.) fifth with 670 and UW-Whitewater sixth with 683.

UW-Oshkosh, which was in third place after the first day of activity, recorded daily scores of 331 and 326.

Paul marked a 12-over-opar score of 158 to pace UW-Oshkosh. She improved from 81 strokes on the first day of competition to 77 on the second.

Krystal Garritson of the University of St. Francis captured the individual title with 147 strokes, 1-over par. Garritson had daily scores of 74 and 73.

Nina Puch of Concordia University Wisconsin finished second among the 97 golfers with 151 strokes, while Carthage College's Carlee Dawson and Kayla Meyer placed third with 156 strokes and fourth with 157, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh's Laura Stair finished 13th with 165 strokes, while teammate Kayla Priebe placed 16th with 167. The Titans also had Samantha Kuik and Micayla Richards share 24th-place with 171 strokes.

UW-Oshkosh competes next Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 3-4) at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational.
