Paul Receives All-WIAC Women's Golf First-Team Mention

UW-Oshkosh's McKenzie Paul is a repeat selection on the 2014 All-WIAC Women's Golf Team.

Paul was one of five golfers named to the first team. The other members of the squad were Kate Engler and Emily Stone from UW-Eau Claire and Mariah Chesley and Brittany McNett-Emmerich from UW-Stout. Engler, Paul and Stone were all first-team selections in 2013.

Paul concluded the fall season with a fourth-place finish at the WIAC Championship held Oct. 3-5 in Nekoosa. She tallied 18-hole scores of 85, 82 and 76 to conclude the tournament with 243 strokes, 27-over par. Paul's performance helped the Titans to a third-place finish.

Paul was extremely consistent during UW-Oshkosh's six meets. She posted an 18-hole scoring average of 81.3 strokes and scored above 83 just twice in 12 rounds.

Paul's highest finish was first place at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational held Sept. 7. She totaled 165 strokes to share the top listing with Viterbo University's Julia Callaghan.

Paul also finished second at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational and third at the UW-Whitewater Invitational.

Golfers receiving All-WIAC second-team honors were Megan Ramp and Allison Van Heuklom from UW-Stout, Stephanie Baribeau from UW-Platteville, Tiffany Boak from UW-Stevens Point and Claudia Rhein from UW-Whitewater.

The WIAC also named McNett-Emmerich as its Golfer of the Year.

The All-WIAC teams were determined by using the NCAA Division III GolfStat rankings. A player must have completed eight rounds in order to be eligible.

Seven golfers were voted to the league's All-Sportsmanship Team, including UW-Oshkosh's Taylor Wenzel.

UW-Stout's Howie Samb was chosen as the WIAC Coach of the Year.
