Titans Finish Fourth At Viterbo University Invitational

One of only two squads to own five of the top 27 individual finishers, UW-Oshkosh placed fourth in the team competition at the Viterbo University Women's Golf Invitational held Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 13-14) in La Crosse.

UW-Oshkosh totaled 720 strokes to share fourth place with AIB College of Business (Iowa). The Titans posted 18-hole team scores of 361 on the first day of competition at the La Crosse Country Club and 359 on the second.

Viterbo University, which also owned five top-27 individual finishers, won the nine-team tournament with 675 strokes, 99-over par. The V-Hawks were followed by second-place Mount Mercy University (Iowa) with 603 strokes and third-place Clarke University (Iowa) with 701. UW-Platteville finished sixth with 729 strokes.

McKenzie Paul led UW-Oshkosh with her fourth-place score of 165 strokes, 21-over par. Paul improved her daily score from 85 to 80 on the second day of competition.

The Titans also had Laura Stair and Taylor Wenzel finish 24th with 187 strokes, Micayla Richards 26th with 188 and Samantha Kuik 27th with 190.

Other UW-Oshkosh results featured Emily Mallek finishing 44th with 207 strokes and Sarah Stefaniak 53rd with 227.

Meg Monson of Mount Mercy University took the individual title with 155 strokes, 10-over par. Danielle Ducklow of Viterbo University finished second with 163 strokes and Madison Goodfellow of Mount Mercy University third with 164. Steph Baribeau of UW-Platteville placed fifth among the event's 54 golfers with 167 strokes.

The La Crosse Country Club played to a par of 72 at 5,937 yards.

UW-Oshkosh participates at the UW-Whitewater Invitational next Friday and Saturday (Sept. 19-20) in Delavan (Delbrook Golf Club).
