Titans Place Seventh At Viterbo Invitational

Taylor Wenzel shot a career-best round of 88 to top UW-Oshkosh's results at the Viterbo Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 14-15) in La Crosse.

Grand View University won the eight-team event with a total of 661 strokes. Viterbo University followed in second with 678, while Clarke University placed third at 695.

St. Ambrose University listed fourth at 698, along with AIB College in fifth at 721, the University of Dubuque sixth at 770, UW-Oshkosh seventh at 790 and St. Mary's University eighth at 815.

Wenzel carded scores of 88 and 92 to finish 18th individually. The Titans also had Sarah Sheldon place 31st with a 200, Emily Mallek 35th with a 202 and Samantha Kuik 36th with a 208.

Grand View's Nicole McDonald won the tournament with her 36-hole total of 155. St. Ambrose's Abby Frideres came in second at 161, while AIB's Jenna Hansen and Viterbo's Erin Isaacson grabbed third at 165.

Fifth place (166) was shared by a pair of Grand View golfers, Angela Chemas and Kenzie Rottinghaus. Clarke University owned both seventh-place finishers, with Kaity Anderson and Ellie Ament marking a 168.

The La Crosse County Club measured 5,937 yards with a par of 72.

UW-Oshkosh competes in the UW-Whitewater Fall Classic next week (Sept. 20-21).
