Henke’s Third-Place Showing Leads Titans

Theresa Henke (Jr. • Wisconsin Rapids) placed third as four UW-Oshkosh players shot their best round of the season at the UW-Whitewater Women's Golf Fall Classic on Saturday (Sept. 22) in Delavan.

Henke compiled just 39 strokes on the front side in posting an 18-hole score of 81, eight-over par. Her score was personal best.

The remaining four Titans placed in the top 28 of the 56-golfer field. Amanda Bingham (Sr. • Mukwonago) finished 19th with 91 strokes, while Coree Georgenson (Sr. • Stevens Point) placed 22nd with 92. Sarah Sheldon (Jr. • Janesville) and Taylor Wenzel (So. • Franklin) shared 28th place with 95 strokes.

UW-Whitewater's Nicole Westcott won the individual title with 75 strokes, two-over par. She took 37 shots on the front side and 38 on the back.

Sammie Leibham of UW-Whitewater took second place with 79 strokes, while Megan Ramp of UW-Whitewater shot an 81 to share third place with UW-Oshkosh's Henke. Morgan Zuleger of Carroll University and Kellsey Welter of UW-Platteville tied for fifth place with 83 strokes.

UW-Oshkosh placed fourth in the 10-team meet with 359 strokes. The score was 18 shots better than any of its previous five rounds.

UW-Whitewater captured the team title with 319 strokes, 27-over par. Carroll University finished second with 345, UW-Stevens Point third with 357 and UW-Platteville fifth with 368.

UW-Oshkosh competes at the Mad Dawg Invitational next Friday and Saturday (Sept. 29-30) in Stevens Point.
