Porath Selected As WIAC Basketball Athlete Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh's Leah Porath was named the WIAC Kwik Trip Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.

Porath earned her latest award for games played Jan. 20-26. She previously received recognition during the periods of Nov. 11-17 and Nov. 25-Dec. 1.

Porath averaged 18 points and 5.5 rebounds to help defending WIAC champion UW-Oshkosh (11-7, 4-3 WIAC) record wins of 64-59 over UW-Stevens Point and 62-51 over nationally ranked UW-Whitewater.

Porath compiled 36 points in the two contests by shooting 38.2 percent (13-34) from the field and 54.5 percent (6-11) from the free throw line. She also made 4 of 10 (40 percent) 3-point shots while totaling 11 rebounds (9 defensive), three assists and three steals.

In UW-Oshkosh's road win over UW-Stevens Point on Jan. 22, Porath scored 19 points with five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 35 minutes of playing time. She shot 8 of 19 from the field and 1 of 2 from the free throw line.

During the Titans' home victory over sixth-ranked UW-Whitewater on Jan. 25, Porath tallied 17 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 30 minutes of action. Porath shot 5 of 15 from the field and 5 of 9 from the free throw line as she registered her 22nd consecutive double-digit scoring performance.
