Campbell Receives Honorable Mention All-America Recognition

UW-Oshkosh's Eliza Campbell was named one of the top 40 players in the NCAA Division III after receiving All-America honorable mention accolades from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

Campbell, a senior forward, is the seventh Titan to earn WBCA All-America honors. She concluded her career 11th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,187 points while helping the Titans to a 93-23 record in her four seasons.

UW-Oshkosh concluded 2018 with a 21-6 record – the program's sixth consecutive season with at least 20 wins – as Campbell led the team with 12.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, and 25 blocks. She ranked fourth in the WIAC in rebounds (164), fifth in blocks, sixth in points (333), and ninth in both field goal (.424) and free throw (.730) percentages.

Campbell, the fourth Titan to garner three straight All-WIAC first team laurels, had 20 double-digit scoring performances on the year and paced the team in scoring on 12 occasions, including 10 times against conference opponents.

Campbell scored a season-best 28 points against Luther College (Iowa) during a 72-65 victory Nov. 26. She notched three double-doubles in conference play, registering 14 points and 11 rebounds at UW-Whitewater during the regular season, 13 points and 10 rebounds at UW-Whitewater during the WIAC tournament championship game, and 12 points and 10 rebounds versus UW-River Falls.

In her four-year UW-Oshkosh career, helped lead the Titans to three straight NCAA postseason appearances from 2015-17, a conference regular season championship in 2017, and WIAC Championship titles in 2015 and 2016. The Titans' 2017 league title was the program's first outright championship since 1999.

Campbell, who started each of the Titans' past 74 games since her sophomore season, concluded her career averaging 10.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals per contest. She scored in double figures 65 times in 115 games over the past four years, including a career-best 29 points in an 87-82 triumph over North Central College (Ill.) during the opening round of the 2015 Division III Championship.

Campbell was previously named to the D3hoops.com All-Central Region Third Team. She was also selected as the WIAC's 2018 Judy Kruckman Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Award recipient for her efforts in the classroom.

The WBCA All-America teams featured a 10-member First Team and 30 players receiving Honorable Mention recognition. Campbell and UW-Whitewater's Brooke Trewyn, an honorable mention pick, were the lone WIAC players to garner All-America accolades from the WBCA.

WBCA's 2018 All-America First Team was comprised of Melissa Baptista from Tufts University (Mass.), Kate Kerrigan from Bowdoin College (Maine), Alexandria Leslie from University of Rochester (N.Y.), Alysha Lofton from Albright College (Pa.), Abby Owings from Thomas More College (Ky.), Kaitlyn Read from New York University, Katie Sire from Montclair State University (N.J.), Katie Sommer from Wartburg College (Iowa, Hannah Spaulding from University of St. Thomas (Minn.) and Kelly Williams from Randolph-Macon College (Va.).

Kerrigan was tabbed the WBCA Player of the Year.

UW-Oshkosh's previous WBCA All-America selections include three-time honoree Taylor Schmidt from 2015-17 and WBCA 1996 Division III Player of the Year Wendy Wangerin.
