Campbell Receives WIAC Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Award

UW-Oshkosh senior forward Eliza Campbell was chosen as the 2018 recipient of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Judy Kruckman Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Award.

Campbell is the third Titan to receive the honor, joining Kay Mikolajczak in 2004 and Megan Wenig in 2013.

Campbell, who ranks 11th on UW-Oshkosh's all-time scoring list with 1,187 career points, boasts a 3.67 cumulative grade point average as a secondary education major. She was named to the UW-Oshkosh Dean's List twice and to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17.

This season Campbell has helped lead UW-Oshkosh to a 21-6 record, pacing the team with 12.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game and 25 blocks. She has led the Titans in scoring on 12 occasions. Campbell, who has started each of the Titans' past 74 games, had a season-high 28 points against Luther College (Iowa) on Nov. 26 in La Crosse.

UW-Oshkosh has compiled a 93-23 record during Campbell's four seasons, which include three consecutive appearances in the NCAA Division III Championship, league postseason championships in 2015 and 2016, and an outright WIAC regular season title in 2017 – the program's first since 1999.

Campbell, a three-time All-WIAC first team selection, has recorded five career double-doubles. Her four-year totals include 573 rebounds, 154 assists, 116 steals and 57 blocks in 115 games (75 starts). She is shooting 43.8 percent (453-1,035) from the field, 30.4 percent (63-207) from 3-point range and 71 percent (218-307) at the free throw line.

A two-time captain, Campbell is a former member of the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a volunteer for the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry.

Campbell is a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay.

Also nominated for this year's scholar-athlete award were UW-Eau Claire's Kayla Hanley, UW-Stout's Anna Brown and UW-Whitewater's Andrea Meinert.

The WIAC Scholar-Athlete Award is named after Judy Kruckman, who served as assistant commissioner for the WIAC from 1996-98. She was also the commissioner of the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference from 1984-96.

In order to be nominated for the scholar-athlete award, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.50 grade point average. In addition, she must be in her last year of competition, or on schedule to graduate this academic year, and have competed for a minimum of two years.
