Melotik Chosen As WIAC Basketball Player Of The Week

The WIAC named UW-Oshkosh guard Emma Melotik as its Women's Basketball Player of the Week for contests held Dec. 11-17.

Shooting 51.9 percent from the field, including 55 percent behind the 3-point arc, Melotik averaged 19.5 points to help UW-Oshkosh record wins of 78-37 over Meredith College (N.C.) and 76-36 over Methodist University (N.C.).

Melotik scored 39 points in the two contests by converting 14 of 27 shots from the field, including 11 of 20 attempts from 3-point territory. She also grabbed one rebound and recorded a steal.

In UW-Oshkosh's road win over Meredith College on Dec. 16, Melotik scored 15 points, collected one rebound and tallied one steal in 24 minutes of action. She made 5 of 13 shots from the field, including 5 of 12 behind the 3-point line.

During the Titans' neutral-court win over Methodist University on Dec. 17, Melotik scored a career-high 24 points by making 9 of 14 shots from the field, including 6 of 8 attempts beyond the 3-point stripe. She appeared on the hardwood for 22 minutes against the Monarchs.
