Titans Dominate Red Hawks, Vikings In Home Debut

The UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team owned 11 of the top 15 runners to easily win the Titan Fall Classic held Friday (Sept. 21) at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

UW-Oshkosh won its first home meet of the season with 15 points, defeating Ripon College which finished second with 60 points and Lawrence University which placed third with 65.

Lucas Weber led UW-Oshkosh to the victory by completing the 8,000-meter course with a second-place time of 25:54.

Unattached and former Titan runner Joe Zack won the race of 35 participants with a time of 25:44.

The next six runners who followed Weber across the finish line were all Titans. The UW-Oshkosh group posted times less than one minute of each other as Michael Juarez placed third in 26:09, Cody Chadwick fourth in 26:21, Andrew George fifth in 26:28, Jacob Rost sixth in 26:33. Andrew Muskevitsch seventh in 26:39 and Steven Potter eighth in 26:54.

UW-Oshkosh had another pack in places 10 through 12 as Noah O'Neill finished 10th with a time 27:22, Justin Skinkis 11th in 27:23 and Kiernan Koepke 12th in 27:24.

Other Titans among the top 20 finishers were Fabian Salinas Arroyo who listed 14th with a time of 27:42, Brian McKnight who placed 17th in 27:52 and Austin Baker who ranked 19th in 28:00.

UW-Oshkosh divides its team next weekend as the Titans compete Friday (Sept. 28) at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational in Colfax and Saturday (Sept. 29) at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn.
