Carpenter Named WIAC Runner Of The Week

The WIAC chose UW-Oshkosh's Jordan Carpenter as its Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets held Oct. 13-19. It's the second award of the season for Carpenter, who also received WIAC recognition for his performance during the period of Sept. 22-28.

Carpenter placed fourth out of 664 runners to lead the Titans at the UW-Oshkosh AAE Invitational held Oct. 18 at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

Carpenter completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 24:40. His performance was just one second behind the third-place time (24:39) of UW-Parkside's Evan Lewandowski. Alan Peterson of Grand Valley State University (Mich.) won the race with a time of 24:32.

UW-Oshkosh placed 10th in the team standings with 288 points. North Central College (Ill.), the top-ranked NCAA Division III squad in the country, won the 45-team meet with 36 points. NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University finished second with 69.
