Titans Run At UW-Parkside Midwest Open

With seven runners finishing in the top 40, the UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team finished fifth Saturday at the UW Parkside Midwest Open.

The meet featured schools from NCAA Division I, II and III. Butler University finished first on the men's side with the top three finishers.

The Titans finished fifth behind Butler, Edinboro, Indianapolis and UW Parkside.

UW-Oshkosh was paced by McKena Ramos, who finished 22nd with a time of 26:09.9.

Jordan Carpenter followed in 23rd with a time of 26:15.2.

Erik Hofferber placed 29th, finishing in 26:25.8. Mike Foust finished in 26:30.6 and Derek Johnsrud in 26:33.0 to place 30th and 31st respectively.

Ryne Scopp placed 35th with a time of 26:39.6, followed by Brett DeNure in 38th with 26:43.0.

The UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team also fared well at the Midwest Open, finishing in eighth place.

Erica Munyan was the top Titan, finishing 28th with a time of 19:15.9.

The next Oshkosh finisher was Kylee Verhasselt, finishing in 19:47.4. Her time was good enough for 51st place.

Sonny Jenkins and Leah Rendflesh finished 52nd and 53rd with times of 19:52.6 and 19:54.4.

Edinboro placed first on the women's side, followed by UW Parkside and Northwestern University.
