UW-Oshkosh Sweeps WIAC Track & Field Weekly Awards

UW-Oshkosh swept the WIAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards after Ryan Powers and Bailey Quinn were recognized for their performance in meets held Nov. 27 - Dec. 3.

Powers was named the league's top performer on the track while Quinn was chosen as the conference's best competitor in the field events. Their efforts helped the Titans capture first place at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational held Dec. 2 in Kolf Sports Center.

Powers won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.01 seconds. His NCAA Division III-leading performance also set a UW-Oshkosh record, eclipsing the previous school mark of 22.27 seconds established by AJ Hollanquest in 2006.

Quinn won the 35-pound weight throw with the fifth-best distance in the NCAA Division III of 55-11 1/4. He also finished 10th in the shot put with a mark of 37-1 3/4.

UW-Oshkosh scored 240 points in the team competition to easily defeat its seven visiting guests. Carthage College finished second to the Titans with 86 points while Carroll University placed third with 77.
