Allan, Baehman Lead Titans At UW-Platteville Invitational

Naji Allan and Zachary Baehman produced second-place finishes to lead the UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team at the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 10-11).

Allan was the runner-up in a field of 65 runners with a time of 10.68 in the 100-meter dash while Baehman placed second among 44 competitors in the shot put with a toss of 56-3 1/4.

A trio of Titans finished third ­at the invitational – Brian Beaudo in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.97, Mike Heinz in the discus throw with a toss of 160-7, and Danny Trimner in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.06.

Titans Roberto Lara (3:54.93) and Kenny Halloran (3:57.51) placed fourth and seventh, respectively, in the 1,500-meter run, which featured 44 participants.

Trevor Damkot also produced a fourth-place showing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:15.07 while Nick Grosskopf finished fifth in the shot put with a heave of 53-5.

Recording eighth-place efforts for UW-Oshkosh were Kallen Bentz in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.40, Scott Heinz in the hammer throw with a cast of 156-7 and Garrison Griest in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.38.

UW-Oshkosh will compete in the Phil Esten Challenge on Friday (April 17) in La Crosse.
