Ramos Named WIAC Performer Of The Meet

McKena Ramos was selected Track Performer of the Meet after winning three races at the WIAC Men's Outdoor Championship on May 2-3.

Ramos captured both the 800 and 1,500-meter runs. His 800 time of 1:52.69 was more than two seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Ramos clocked a 4:00.75 during the 1,500-meter event.

In the NCAA Division III rankings, Ramos stands fourth in both the 800 and 1,500-meter runs.

Ramos also ran the anchor leg on UW-Oshkosh's 3,200-meter relay. Brett DeNure, Sean Kutz, Matt Lawrence and Ramos posted a winning mark of 7:41.70.

The Titans finished second in the team standings with 163 points. UW-La Crosse took the title with 215, while UW-Whitewater placed third with 109 and UW-Eau Claire fourth with 102.

Ramos is the fourth Titan to receive this award. He joins Track Performers of the Meet Matt Groose (2002), Matt Thull (1997) and Ben Zill (2010).

UW-La Crosse owned the remaining award winners, with Dominique Neloms taking Field Performer of the Meet and Josh Buchholtz claiming Coach of the Year.
