Titans Claim Victory At Eastbay Invitational

UW-Oshkosh ran the nation's top distance medley relay during its win at the Eastbay Men's Track & Field Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 22) in Stevens Point.

The Titans scored 115.33 points to prevail in the 20-team meet. UW-La Crosse listed second with 108, along with UW-Eau Claire third at 94, UW-Stevens Point fourth at 88 and Carthage College fifth at 65.

In the distance medley relay, Brett DeNure, Kenny Halloran, McKena Ramos and Corey Wilch clocked a time of 9:55.44 – a school record and the fastest in NCAA Division III this season.

UW-Oshkosh won four other events. Joe Zack captured the mile run in 4:20.93, while John McCann took the high jump at 6-9. Jake Dickmann then cleared 14-11.5 in the pole vault and Zachary Baehman marked a shot put of 55-7.5 for victories.

Earning second-place finishes were Naji Allan in the 60-meter dash at 6.98, Matt Lawrence in the 800-meter run at 1:54.34 and Tyler Miletti in the 5,000-meter run at 15:37.15.

Mike Foust came in third during the 5,000-meter run after using 15:40.42. Jeremy Brandt's shot put of 54-2.75 was also good enough for third place.

On the track, UW-Oshkosh scored fourth-place results from Mike Servais in the 200-meter dash (22.63) and Reid Zanoya in the 400-meter run (50.59).

The Titans gear up for the WIAC Indoor Championship next weekend (Feb. 28-March 1) in Whitewater.
