Titans Rank Third At Converse Invitational

McKena Ramos and Lee Robinson each won an event as UW-Oshkosh finished third at the Squig Converse Men's Track & Field Invitational on Friday (Jan. 31) in Whitewater.

The meet featured five squads ranked in the top-10 of the NCAA Division III, with No. 1 UW-La Crosse, No. 4 UW-Whitewater, No. 5 UW-Oshkosh, No. 7 North Central College (Ill.) and No. 8 Monmouth College (Ill.).

UW-La Crosse topped the team standings with 154 points, while North Central placed second with 129, UW-Oshkosh third with 97, Augustana College (Ill.) fourth with 85.5, UW-Whitewater fifth with 83 and Monmouth sixth with 59.5. A total of nine teams competed.

Ramos captured the 800-meter run with his time of 1:54.83. The Titans also had Robinson win the triple jump with a distance of 45-2 1/8.

A pair of second-place results came from Jonathan Jordan in the long jump at 22-6 1/8 and John McCann in the high jump at 6-8 1/8. Jeremy Brandt was the runner-up with his shot put of 52-3 1/2.

UW-Oshkosh listed third in a trio of runs. Naji Allan clocked a 22.66 in the 200, while Brian Beaudo posted a 50.09 in the 400 and Brett DeNure a 1:55.28 in the 800.

Also scoring third place were Joe Brunner in the weight throw at 57-10 and Zachary Baehman in the shot put at 51-10.

The Titans host the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Friday (Feb. 7) in Kolf Sports Center.
