Titans Close Season With Shutout

The UW-Oshkosh men's tennis team concluded its 2015 season with a 9-0 victory over Concordia University Wisconsin on Friday (April 25) at the Kolf Sports Center Complex.

Mike Gillespie earned wins at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to lead the Titans (7-15) to their second shutout of the season.

Gillespie defeated Trevor Budewitz, 6-0, 6-1, and teamed with Aidan Sauberlich to oust Brad Guendel and Benjamin Nommensen, 8-0.

Logan Zastrow at No. 5 and David La Grange at No. 6 singles gave UW-Oshkosh 6-1, 6-0 wins over Ryan Rogers and Steven Fritz, respectively.

The Titans also received individual wins from Sauberlich in the second flight, Vincent Gorski in the third and Adam Martin in the fourth. Sauberlich defeated Nommensen, 6-2, 6-2, while Martin ousted Ceejay Schaffner, 6-2, 6-4. Gorski collected his win following Guendel's retirement in the second set (6-3, 2-0).

Gorski and Martin gave UW-Oshkosh a win at No. 2 doubles with their 8-4 triumph over Rogers and Schaffner.

The No. 3 doubles contest went to the Titans as La Grange and Zastrow defeated Budewitz and Gold, 8-1.

Concordia University Wisconsin falls to 8-11 with the loss.
