Wilke, Lieder Win Twice During Titans' Loss To Pointers
Matt Wilke won both diving events and Jarrett Lieder a pair of freestyle races during UW-Oshkosh's 165-73 loss to the UW-Stevens Point men's swimming & diving team on Friday (Jan. 3) in Albee Hall.
Wilke scored 310.65 points to win the 1- and 316.95 to win the 3-meter diving competitions.
Lieder was the winner in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyles with swims of 4:54.95 and 10:08.88, respectively.
UW-Oshkosh's Jack Miller added a first-place finish with his time of 54.66 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly.
The Titans also had Andrew Park finish second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.16 and Alex Jernberg third and Cody Else fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle with swims of 10:52.93 and 11:05.74, respectively.
UW-Stevens Point, the 20-time defending WIAC champion, owned the winner in eight of Friday's 13 events.
UW-Oshkosh will travel to Appleton for a dual meet against Lawrence University on Saturday (Jan. 4).
