Titans Have 14 Top 20 Results At Wisconsin College Showcase

Jarrett Lieder and Jack Miller both earned three top 20 finishes to help the UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team at the Wisconsin College Showcase held Saturday (Oct. 19) in Brown Deer.

The meet was non scored and featured NCAA Division I teams UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee and UW-Oshkosh's NCAA Division III rivals Beloit College, Carthage College, Lawrence University, UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater.

Lieder finished ninth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:01.07, 12th in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:48.94 and 15th in the 100-yard butterfly at 55.29 seconds.

Miller placed 10th in both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard freestyle with times of 53.38 seconds and 1:48.17, respectively, and 18th in the 50-yard freestyle at 22.78 seconds.

In diving, UW-Oshkosh's Matt Wilke finished fourth off both the 1- and 3-meter planks with scores of 258.40 and 277.55, respectively.

Alex Jernberg and Josiah Vandenberg added a pair of top 20 results. Jernberg placed 15th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:11.41 and 19th in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:05.04 while Vandenberg finished 15th in the 400-yard individual medley at 4:45.32 and 17th in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:11.35.

Titan David Bain contributed a 16th-place time of 2:15.21 in the 200-yard backstroke and a 23rd-place effort of 2:22.74 in the 200-yard individual medley while Cody Else had a 23rd-place times of 1:07.54 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 2:36.74 in the 200-yard breaststroke.

UW-Oshkosh also received a 19th-place time of 51.65 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle from Michael Gerondale, a 21st-place time of 5:47.83 in the 500-yard freestyle from Michael Kuhl and a 24th-place time of 1:08.01 in the 100-yard breaststroke from Andrew Park.

The Titans did not place in the top five of the two relays held.

UW-Oshkosh competes in a dual meet at Carroll University on Friday (Oct. 25).
