Lieder, Wilke Give Titans Sweep Of WIAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

UW-Oshkosh swept the WIAC Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week awards as Jarrett Lieder and Matt Wilke were recognized for their performance in meets held Dec. 3-9.

Lieder was named the league's Swimmer of the Week for the second time and Wilke the conference's Diver of the Week for the third time this season.

Lieder won the 1,000-yard freestyle and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle while Wilke won both diving events during UW-Oshkosh's 151-69 road loss to UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 7.

Lieder earned his finishes with times of 10:13.16 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 5:04.81 in the 500-yard freestyle. He also helped Case Geidl, Michael Gerondale and Ian Sewell register a second-place time of 1:32.57 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Wilke, a nine-time WIAC Diver of the Week award winner, dove to winning scores of 298.85 in the 1-meter category and 312.25 in the 3-meter section.
