Titans Win Three Events In Loss To Pointers

Matt Wilke won both diving events and Jarrett Lieder the 1,000-yard freestyle during UW-Oshkosh's 151-69 loss to the UW-Stevens Point men's swimming & diving team on Friday (Dec. 7) in Stevens Point.

Wilke dove to winning scores of 298.85 points in the 1-meter category and 312.25 in the 3-meter section while Lieder swam to a first-place time of 10:23.16 in the 1,000-yard freestyle.

Lieder also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:04.81.

UW-Oshkosh had three other second-place results, including David Bain's performance of 59.73 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke and Case Geidl's effort of 50.57 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle.

The Titans placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Geidl, Lieder, Michael Gerondale and Ian Sewell combined for a time of 1:32.57.

Other UW-Oshkosh results included Alex Jernberg's third-place time of 10:48.02 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and Sewell's fourth-place time of 23.94 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh is off until it hosts Lawrence University on Jan. 5 in Albee Hall.
