Titans Outscored By Warhawks

Matt Wilke owned both UW-Oshkosh victories during the Titans' 153-60 loss to the UW-Whitewater men's swimming & diving team on Friday (Nov. 9) in Albee Hall.

Wilke swept the two diving events by totaling first-place scores of 288.83 points off the 1-meter board and 304.72 off the 3-meter plank. Titan Even Bredesen finished second to Wilke in both categories, posting scores of 238.28 in the 1-meter division and 200.55 in the 3-meter classification.

UW-Whitewater won all 11 swimming events. Tyler Chatterton led the Warhawks by winning the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.41 and the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.68. He was also a part of UW-Whitewater's winning 400-yard medley relay, which touched the wall in 3:42.82.

UW-Oshkosh's Jarrett Lieder finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:04.75 and third in the 1,650-yard freestyle at 17:22.54. He also swam with David Bain, Alex Jernberg and Ian Sewell for a third-place time of 3:56.01 in the 400-yard medley relay.

The Titans had three other third-place finishes as Bain posted a time of 2:16.62 in the 200-yard backstroke, Sewell a mark of 1:56.42 in the 200-yard freestyle and Michael Gerondale a pace of 52.73 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle.

Five different Titans recorded fourth-place finishes, including Bain who swam to a time of 5:13.53 in the 400-yard individual medley. 

UW-Oshkosh also received fourth-place times of 2:00.91 from Gerondale in the 200-yard freestyle, 18:11.51 from Jernberg in the 1,650-yard freestyle, 5:24.98 from Sewell in the 500-yard freestyle and 27.27 seconds from Matt Holst in the 50-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh performs at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday (Nov. 17).
