Eagles Spoil Titans' Final Home Meet Of Season

Jarrett Lieder won the 1,000-yard freestyle while Matt Wilke captured first place in both the 1- and 3-meter diving categories during UW-Oshkosh's 157-64 loss to the UW-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team on Saturday (Jan. 20) in Albee Hall. 

Lieder achieved his victory with a time of 10:20.20. He also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.65 and joined Brandon Davison, Trevor Jacobs and Ian Sewell in recording a third-place time of 1:33.78 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Wilke earned his first-place rankings by totaling 299.30 points off the 1-meter board and 318.00 off the 3-meter plank.

Sewell also contributed a pair of third-place finishes by swimming to freestyle times of 52.03 seconds at 100 yards and 1:55.65 at 200.

Josiah Vandenberg completed the Titans' list of third-place finishes by marking a time of 2:07.99 in the 200-yard individual medley.

UW-Oshkosh's six fourth-place finishes included a pair by Bryan Solomon. Solomon recorded times of 56.95 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly and 2:10.79 in the 200-yard individual medley.

The Titans other fourth-place performances belonged to Davison in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.10, Mitchell Bricco in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.86, Grady Hilgendorf in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:55.61 and Nathan Newman in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.14 seconds.

Saturday's meet concluded UW-Oshkosh's home meet schedule for the 2017-18 season.

UW-Oshkosh is off until Feb. 3 when it sends Wilke to the University of Illinois-Chicago Diving Invitational and the remaining members of its squad to Ripon College for a dual meet.
