Titans Soak Red Hawks In Home Finale

Zach Hogan and Myles Taylor won two events apiece to help the UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team defeat Ripon College, 99-46, on Saturday (Feb. 7) in Albee Hall.

Hogan took first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.84 seconds and the 100-yard individual medley with a performance of 1:00.34.

Taylor captured first place in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 27.25 seconds and the 200-yard freestyle with a swim of 1:53.44.

The Titans' Tyler Shircel won the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 31.53 seconds while leading off the 200-yard medley relay team that posted a winning time of 1:49.00. Other members of the victorious relay squad were Jacob Casper, Andrew Doyle and Grady Hilgendorf.

UW-Oshkosh's remaining event winners were Doyle in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.88 seconds and Hilgendorf in the 1,650-yard freestyle with an effort of 18:30.93.

The Titans' Brandon Davison placed second in two events after recording times of 24.19 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and 27.22 seconds in the 50-yard butterfly.

Second-place finishes also went to the Titans' Hilgendorf in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 31.60 seconds, Shircel in the 100-yard individual medley with a performance of 1:00.40 and Alec Marquardt in the 500-yard freestyle with an effort of 5:31.88.

Third-place times went to UW-Oshkosh's Casper in the 100-yard freestyle at 54.68 seconds, Davison in the 50-yard backstroke at 31.25 seconds and Marquardt in the 50-yard butterfly at 29.12 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh is idle until it competes at the WIAC Championship on Feb. 19-21 at the Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer.
