Devine Selected WIAC Diver Of The Week
For the third time this season and ninth time overall,
UW-Oshkosh's Phil Devine (Jr. • Winnebago, Ill.) has been
named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC)
Men's Diver of the Week. The award covered swimming and diving
meets held Jan. 17-23.
Devine earned his latest honor after winning both diving events at
the UW-Stevens Point Invitational held Jan. 21-22.
In the one-meter diving, Devine scored 510.30 points to defeat 12
other competitors. Nicholas Badilla of UW-Eau Claire finished
second to Devine with 434.75 points and Connor Florand of NCAA
Division II Minnesota State University-Mankato third with
431.25.
Devine took first place among 11 participants in the three-meter
diving with 551.95 points. Badilla finished second in the event
with 495.65 points and Florand third with 462.25.
UW-Stevens Point captured the team title with 1,133.5 points,
while UW-La Crosse finished second with 692.5 and UW-Eau Claire
third with 622. UW-Oshkosh placed sixth in the six-team meet with
199 points.
Andy Hanney of UW-Whitewater was selected as the WIAC's Men's
Swimmer of the Week.
