Anderson Glides Past Opponents At Falcon Invitational
Dalton Anderson (So. • Elkhorn) won three events and
established a school record at the Falcon Swimming Invitational on
Friday and Saturday (Dec. 3-4) in Minneapolis, Minn. No team scores
were kept at the meet.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Anderson beat 36 other
competitors with his time of 1:56.59 – the fastest in
UW-Oshkosh history. Billy Schultze of Gustavus Adolphus College
(Minn.) came in second place at 1:57.62.
Anderson recorded his victory in the 200-yard butterfly by more
than six seconds. His mark of 1:55.56 easily defeated second-place
finisher Alexander Plaetzer of UW-Eau Claire at 2:01.78.
Continuing his success, Anderson posted a 50.55 to top the 41-man
field in the 100-yard butterfly. The runner-up was Gustavus
Adolphus College’s Matt Von Fossen, who timed a 52.57.
UW-Oshkosh’s remaining notable performance (seventh place)
was by the 200-yard medley relay squad, which included Anderson.
Also propelling the Titans to a 1:43.60 finish were Eddie Dominguez
(So. • Greendale), Matt Engelhardt (So. • DeForest) and
Brian Markovich (Jr. • Colgate).
The Titans competed in the invitational’s red division,
which consisted of eight schools. UW-River Falls was the host
school.
UW-Oshkosh returns to the pool to host Lawrence University on Friday (Dec. 10) in Albee Hall.
