Hernandez Selected To All-North Region Team

Sophomore midfielder Jacob Hernandez was the lone UW-Oshkosh representative on the 2014 NCAA Division III All-North Region Men's Soccer Team.

Members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America chose a total of 33 players to the three squads, including Hernandez as a second-team selection.

Luther College (Iowa) had five players collect All-North Region honors, while Loras College (Iowa) and The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) had four apiece. The team also included three players from UW-Whitewater and one from UW-Platteville.

Hernandez started all 21 matches this season and scored eight points on two goals and four assists. He scored one goal and assisted on another during UW-Oshkosh's 4-1 win over Concordia University Wisconsin and the Titans' 4-0 victory over St. Norbert College. Last month, Hernandez was one of five UW-Oshkosh players named to the All-WIAC First Team.

Hernandez has totaled 17 points on five goals and seven assists during his 42-match career.

UW-Oshkosh went 7-0-1 in its last eight matches to finish the season with a 14-5-2 record. The Titans captured the WIAC championship with a 1-0 victory over UW-Whitewater in the final of the league's postseason tournament.
