Stanley Named WIAC Soccer Player Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh forward Jonathan Stanley was selected as the WIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 29 - Oct. 5.

Stanley scored the winning goal in overtime as UW-Oshkosh edged defending WIAC champion UW-Superior, 1-0, on Oct. 3.

After two 45-minute halves and a 10-minute overtime session, UW-Oshkosh broke a scoreless contest on Stanley's header during the seventh minute (106:48) of the final extra period. Stanley's shot, which came off a corner kick from teammate John Schwalbach, was the only one taken by the Titans in overtime. The goal was Stanley's third of the season.

Defender Joey Gustafson of UW-Superior was named the WIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
