Titans Host Pioneers In Semifinal Of WIAC Championship

Undefeated UW-Oshkosh takes on last year's conference champion, UW-Platteville, in a WIAC Men's Soccer Championship semifinal on Wednesday (Nov. 6). The first-ever conference tournament match will begin at 6 p.m. from J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

In the other semifinal matchup, UW-Superior is visiting UW-Whitewater. The two winners will face off for the WIAC Championship at the higher seed on Friday.

The Titans, ranked sixth in the NCAA Division III, are one of four unbeaten teams in the country. UW-Oshkosh (14-0-4) has won nine straight matches, including a 3-1 victory at UW-Platteville on Oct. 27.

UW-Oshkosh has outscored its foes 46-10 this season. Tony Starnes leads the team with eight goals, while Kirby Allen and Jan Nachtigall each own seven. Goalkeepers Nick Barry (0.74) and Sam Gabrilska (0.44) both have a stellar goals against average.

The Pioneers (7-8-3) are led by Hunter McMahon and Mbodje Sarr. McMahon has tallied eight goals, while Sarr scored five goals and three assists. Ian Christensen owns a 1.33 GAA.

These teams have met 30 times, including every year since 1992. UW-Oshkosh holds a 24-5-1 advantage in the series.
