Nationally Ranked Titans, Duhawks Play To Draw

UW-Oshkosh posted its fifth consecutive shutout during a scoreless double-overtime tie with the Loras College (Iowa) men's soccer team on Wednesday (Sept. 11) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Loras College (4-0-2) entered the match ranked fifth in the NCAA Division III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, UW-Oshkosh (3-0-2) 14th.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Sam Gabrilska, who hasn't allowed a score in 490 minutes this season, stopped four shots during the first half and three more in the first overtime. He finished the contest with eight saves.

Loras College goalkeeper Dylan Milkent played the entire 110 minutes as well and saved three shots.

UW-Oshkosh totaled 11 shots, with two apiece from Trent Allison and Chris Kurth. Loras College, which advanced to the semifinal round of last year's NCAA Division III Championship, attempted 16 shots. Mike Pizzello fired four shots and Johnny Rummelhart three for the Duhawks.

The Duhawks outshot the Titans, 9-1, during a scoreless first half. Loras College had two shots hit the goal in the opening 25 minutes. Both squads attempted one shot in the second overtime.

Loras College held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.

The Titans head to Kimberly for a match with the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Friday (Sept. 13).
