Fravert Named To Francis Award Top 50 Watch List

UW-Oshkosh senior forward Adam Fravert remains in contention for the Bevo Francis Award, which is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within the NCAA Divisions II and III, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, the United States Collegiate Athletics Association and the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Fravert is among 50 players, including 14 from the NCAA Division III, on the Bevo Francis Award watch list. The list of contenders, which began with a 100-member watch list Jan. 15, will be pared to 25 players March 15 before the finalists are announced April 4. The 2020 Bevo Francis Award winner will be revealed April 6.

Fravert is leading defending NCAA Division III and WIAC champion UW-Oshkosh with 18.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 blocks per game this season and also paces the squad with 54 made 3-pointers. He is shooting 46.2 percent (153-331) from the field, 34.2 percent (54-158) from 3-point range and 79.6 percent (74-93) at the free throw line.

The only WIAC player still in contention for the 2020 Bevo Francis Award, Fravert leads the conference in rebounding, assists and double-doubles (10) while ranking second in the league in made 3-pointers and blocks, third in scoring and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.73), and sixth in free throw percentage.

Fravert, a two-time All-WIAC First Team selection, was named a 2019-20 preseason All-American by D3hoops.com after helping the Titans win the first national title in program history a year ago. Fravert was chosen to the five-member All-Tournament Team as UW-Oshkosh culminated its run to the national championship with a 96-82 victory over Swarthmore College (Pa.).

This season Fravert has been the Titans' leading scorer on 13 occasions and led the team in assists 15 times and in rebounding 13 as UW-Oshkosh has compiled a 15-8 overall record, including a 9-3 mark in conference play. Fravert, who registered seven consecutive double-doubles between Jan. 18 and Feb. 12, had season highs of 37 points during a 93-76 win over LaGrange College (Ga.) on Dec. 30, 12 rebounds in both a 79-74 victory against 18th-ranked UW-La Crosse on Feb. 8 and a 78-76 setback to UW-Eau Claire on Feb. 5, and seven assists during an 82-66 win over UW-Eau Claire on Jan. 15.

Fravert currently ranks second in UW-Oshkosh history with 149 blocks. He also lists sixth on the program's all-time list with 298 assists, eighth with 740 rebounds and 13th with 1,358 points.

The Bevo Francis Award has been presented annually since 2016. Aston Francis from Wheaton College (Ill.) became the first NCAA Division III winner of the award last season.
