Titans Pick Up Win Over Eagles

Adam Fravert had a career-high 22 points and 15 rebounds to lead the UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team to a 78-66 win over Edgewood College on Wednesday (Nov. 22) in Kolf Sports Center.

UW-Oshkosh (3-0) scored 13 of the first 16 points of the second half to extend its lead to 50-39. The Titans led by at least 10 points for the last 15:41 of the contest.

Edgewood College (0-3) committed just five turnovers, but the Titans concluded the contest with advantages of 44-27 in rebounds and .490 to .369 in field goal percentage.

UW-Oshkosh converted 24 of 32 (75 percent) of its free throws while the Eagles shot 13-for-15 (86.7 percent) at the foul line.

The Titans have won 25 of their 29 meetings with Edgewood College, including a 74-63 decision last season in Madison.

Fravert, who notched his second straight double-double, connected on 5 of 12 shots from the floor and 10 of 13 from the free throw line. He has also collected at least 10 rebounds in each of UW-Oshkosh's three games this season.

Fravert established his previous career high of 17 points along with 10 rebounds during the Titans' 60-57 victory at St. Norbert College on Tuesday (Nov. 21).

UW-Oshkosh's Ben Boots and Jack Flynn added 14 points apiece against Edgewood College while Charlie Noone contributed 12 points and two steals. Boots had a team-leading four assists and shot 10-for-10 at the free throw line.

Neither team led by more than four points until Noone drained a 3-pointer for a 22-17 Titan advantage with 9:18 left in the first half.

Fravert drove for a two-handed dunk that gave the Titans a 32-31 lead, but Edgewood College regained a 36-32 advantage on a 3-pointer from Arik Anderson with just under three minutes to play in the opening half.

A pair of free throws by Boots knotted the score at 36, and another free throw from Fravert provided UW-Oshkosh a 37-36 edge at intermission.

The Titans' 13-3 scoring run to begin the second half was sparked by 10 points from Fravert and concluded with a 3-pointer by David Vlotho.

UW-Oshkosh built its largest lead of 19 points at 71-52 on a 3-pointer by Brett Wittchow with 5:23 remaining.

The Eagles closed to within 11 points at 73-62 with two minutes left and 75-64 at the 1:46 mark, but Boots and Fravert combined to hit three of their four free throws over the final 77 seconds while Edgewood College shot 1-for-4 from the field and committed a turnover on its last four possessions.

Emil Radisevic paced the Eagles with 16 points on 7 of 10 shooting from the field.

Jake Negus added 13 points and a team-high five rebounds for Edgewood College, which also received 11 points off the bench from Anderson and a game-high six assists from McClain Steffens.

UW-Oshkosh travels to North Park University (Ill.) on Tuesday (Nov. 28).
