Men's Basketball Team To Hold Steak Fry Fundraiser

The UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team will hold its 2nd annual Steak Fry to tip-off the 2014-15 season on Saturday, November 1 at the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel Convention Center in Oshkosh (1 N. Main St.).

The event features an address from head coach Pat Juckem, introductions of the 2014-15 team, and comments from seniors – Josh Hopfensperger and Mike Patt.

A social and silent auction begins at 6 p.m., with the rib-eye steak dinner starting at 7 p.m. and the program at 8 p.m.

Numerous silent auctions will be held throughout the evening. Items up for bid include Green Bay Packers tickets, Marquette University men's basketball tickets, a suite for a University of Wisconsin men's basketball game, tickets to the 2015 PGA Championship at the Whistling Straits Golf Course in Kohler, golf for four at the Whistling Straits Golf Course, and autographed memorabilia.

"This event provides fans an opportunity to learn more about the UW-Oshkosh men's basketball program," said Juckem, who enters his third season as the Titans' head coach. "I think we offer something for everyone who attends."

Tickets for the Steak Fry are $50 for individuals or $350 for a table of eight. UW-Oshkosh faculty and staff can attend for $35.

"I think our basketball family grew," Juckem said about last year's Steak Fry. "We had over 200 people in attendance and we look forward to building upon that number this year."

Proceeds from the Steak Fry Fundraiser will go toward the operation of the UW-Oshkosh men's basketball program and renovation of the team's locker room.

For reservations or more information, please contact head coach Pat Juckem at (920) 424-2211 or juckemp@uwosh.edu. The deadline for reservations is Friday, Oct. 24.

Last season, UW-Oshkosh compiled a 12-14 record and finished fifth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). It was best record and highest WIAC finish by the Titans since 2009.

Juckem inherited a program that went 0-16 in WIAC play and went 4-21 overall in 2012. UW-Oshkosh went 7-9 in conference play last season.
