UW-Oshkosh To Host High School All-Star Football Games

The state's premier senior players from the 2013 high school football season showcase their talents when UW-Oshkosh hosts the 38th Annual Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) All-Star Classic on Saturday (July 19) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium (450 Josslyn Street).

Action begins at noon when the North and South teams from Division 4-7 meet. The North and South squads from Division 1-3 compete in the second game at 5 p.m.

Head coaches in the Division 4-7 contest are Prescott's Matt Smith for the North and Big Foot's Rodney Wedig for the South. The Division 1-3 head coaches are Eau Claire North's Josh Fizel for the North and South Milwaukee's John Galewski for the South.

All four teams began practicing on Sunday (July 13), with the North squads honing their skills at UW-Oshkosh and the South teams working out at UW-Whitewater.

Last year, the South won the Division 1-3 game, 47-19, while the North won the Division 4-7 contest, 20-19.

The WFCA All-Star Classic is being held in Oshkosh for the 33rd time. The contest was at Madison's Camp Randall Stadium from 1999 to 2002 and Menasha's Calder Stadium in 2004. Proceeds from the games have gone to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

The games will be televised live on Time Warner Cable Sports 32 and simulcast on WISC-TV Channel 3 in Madison and WKBT Channel 8 in La Crosse and Eau Claire.
