Reckert Receives CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors

UW-Oshkosh senior outfielder Logan Reckert was named a third-team member of the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® NCAA Division III Baseball Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Reckert, one of the three WIAC award winners among the 33 honorees, is the 54th UW-Oshkosh student-athlete to earn Academic All-America recognition from CoSIDA and the eighth from the school's baseball program. He is the first UW-Oshkosh baseball player to receive Academic All-America mention since outfielder Kyle Heckendorf acquired a second-team listing in 2004.

Reckert, a graduate of Mundelein (Ill.) High School, owns a 3.91 cumulative grade point average as a finance major. The three-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll member was named to the UW-Oshkosh Dean's List on six occasions.

Reckert started 38 of the 39 games that he played in this past season and ranked second on the UW-Oshkosh team with a .393 batting average. He tallied 55 hits, including seven doubles and pair of home runs, while driving in 29 runs and scoring 19 times.

Reckert had a season-best four-hit performance during UW-Oshkosh's 16-12 win over UW-Platteville on April 22 and produced at least one hit in 32 contests. He also recorded 17 multi-hit and seven multi-RBI games. Reckert's longest hitting streak of the season covered 12 contests from May 4-19.

Reckert was an All-WIAC First Team selection and a member of D3baseball.com's All-Midwest Region Third Team in 2018.

Reckert played in 135 games during his four-year UW-Oshkosh career, including 126 as a starter. He compiled a .344 batting average with 168 hits, two home runs, 23 doubles, 84 runs batted in and 81 runs scored.

UW-Whitewater's Blake Fleischman and Daytona Bryden joined Reckert on the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® NCAA Division III Baseball Team. Fleischman was named to the First Team and Bryden to the Second.

UW-Oshkosh (34-10) concluded its most successful season in more than a decade by reaching the championship round of the Duluth (Minn.) Regional. The Titans, who received an at-large berth to their first NCAA Division III postseason appearance since 2008, tied the program record with 111 doubles, achieved their most wins since 2007 and suffered their fewest losses since 2004.

UW-Oshkosh ranked 11th in the final national poll conducted by D3baseball.com.
