All-Region Baseball Teams Include Two Titans

UW-Oshkosh senior designated hitter Robbie Kleman and junior outfielder Johnny Eagan have been named to the All-Midwest Region teams by D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

Kleman was named to the All-Midwest Region Second Team by D3baseball.com and Third Team by the ABCA. Eagan was chosen to the Second Team by the ABCA and the Third Team by D3baseball.com. Both Kleman and Eagan were also All-WIAC first team selections this season.

Kleman paced the Titans with six home runs, six triples, 40 RBIs, 91 total bases and .599 slugging and .441 on-base percentages in 41 games, including 40 as a starter. He ranks second in the league in triples; fourth in home runs, RBIs, total bases and slugging percentage; eighth in on-base percentage; and 10th in hits and batting with a .355 average.

Kleman, who reached base in 15 consecutive games from April 9-24, drove in multiple runs during 11 contests this season, including a season-best four RBIs against UW-La Crosse.

Kleman capped his career with a .317 batting average with 176 hits, 95 runs, 35 doubles, 14 home runs, 127 RBIs and 273 total bases in 146 games played, including 141 as a starter.

Eagan led UW-Oshkosh with a .365 batting average, 57 hits, 37 runs and 17 doubles while ranking second with 33 runs batted in, 83 total bases, 12 stolen bases and .532 slugging and .436 on-base percentages in 40 games played, including 39 as a starter.

Eagan, a two-time All-WIAC first team selection, lists third in the league in doubles; sixth in hits, runs and stolen bases; eighth in total bases; and ninth in batting average, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. He had 18 multiple-hit games this season, including four-hit efforts against Concordia University Wisconsin and Ripon College.

Eagan was chosen to the 2015 All-Midwest Region Third Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

The WIAC had 11 players on D3baseball.com's All-Midwest Region teams and 16 on the ABCA squads. League champion UW-La Crosse had a league-high six all-region players by D3baseball.com and nine by the ABCA.

D3baseball.com's All-Midwest Region First Team included UW-La Crosse's Justin Anderson, Caleb Boushley, Alex Cordova and Taylor Kohlwey. The WIAC players joining Kleman on the Second Team were UW-Whitewater's Cal Aldridge, Lake Bachar and Curtis Morgan while Eagan was joined on the Third Team by UW-La Crosse's Troy Kenkel and Logan Mallek.

Kohlwey was named the Midwest Region Player of the Year by D3baseball.com and the ABCA while Boushley was chosen as the region's Pitcher of the Year by both organizations. D3baseball.com tabbed UW-La Crosse's Chris Schwarz the Midwest Region Coach of the Year, and Mike Brookshaw from Augsburg College (Minn.) the region's Rookie of the Year.

The ABCA All-Midwest Region First Team included UW-La Crosse's Anderson, Boushley, Cordova and Kohlwey; and UW-Whitewater's Bachar and Morgan.

The WIAC players joining Eagan on the ABCA All-Midwest Second Team were UW-La Crosse's Carter Hoffman and Kenkel, UW-Stout's Noah Brown and UW-Whitewater's Aldridge and Steve Chamberlain.

League players joining Kleman on the All-Midwest Third Team were UW-La Crosse's Alex Brown, Nate Heili and Joel Zyhowski.

The D3baseball.com all-region teams, which feature 14 players on each of three squads, are voted on by NCAA Division III sports information directors and D3baseball.com staff and contributors. The website has published all-region teams since 2012.

The ABCA all-region teams were comprised of a 15-member First Team, a 16-member Second Team and a 19-member Third Team. ABCA all-region teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association, and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America Committee.
